200 new COVID-19 deaths reported, 24 of them on Tuesday

Twenty-four COVID-19 deaths are reported in Missouri on Tuesday.  The state reported 176 additional virus-related deaths today, but they were part of the health department’s weekly check of death certificates and some of them date back several months.  To date, a total of 6,155 Missourians have died as a result of the virus.

The health department also reported Tuesday an additional 2,131 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the pandemic’s total number of cases in Missouri to just over 427,000. 

The state also reports a light dip in the positivity rate and hospital admissions, but ICU admissions have risen slightly.
