A number of MU athletic programs have been ordered to serve a postseason ban during the upcoming school year.

The Columbia Missourian reports the NCAA is placing a ban on the Missouri football program after an investigation into academic fraud found a former MU tutor completed schoolwork for 12 student athletes.

The Missourian reports MU's baseball and softball programs were also placed under a postseason ban.

The NCAA has also implemented additional sanctions including a reduction in scholarships for athletes, as well as recruiting limitations.

The university says it will appeal the decision, calling the penalties unfair.
