The newly reopened bridge over the Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks will be open this weekend, but will be shut down for another week after that.
MoDOT says the bridge will be closed from Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20, so that crews can continue to apply an epoxy wearing surface to the road.
The bridge reopened on April 29 after months of repairs. But it was closed this week as workers began laying down the epoxy surface.
This is the final step in rehabilitating the 93-year-old bridge. Work began in September, with crews repairing the bridge deck, expansion joints, sidewalks and barrier walls. The project ran longer than expected because when crews began work, they found that the road was in worse shape than originally believed.
