One of four people accused of contributing to the death of a four-year-old girl in Benton County is granted a change of venue.

On Wednesday, a Benton County judge agreed to move the trial of Kourtney Aumen, 22, of Lincoln, to Webster County.  Her next court appearance is in April.  Aumen is charged with second-degree murder, child abuse, and two counts of child endangerment.

The girl’s parents, James and Mary Mast, are scheduled to appear in court later this month.  The fourth defendant, Ethan Mast, will appear in court next month.

The girl died six days before Christmas in 2020 at her father’s home near Lincoln, after the group allegedly beat her to rid her of a demon.
