Boone County hosts COVID-19 forum Wednesday night for the Black community

Dr. Dale Okorodudu is one of seven facilitating the forum.  He says the hope is the forum will help build trust between the medical profession and the Black community.

The Boone County health department is working in conjunction with African American doctors, nurses, and health educators to bridge a gap between the Black community and COVID-19 vaccines.

The health department is hosting a virtual meeting tonight, entitled, “Let’s Talk:  COVID Vaccines and the Black Community”.  Those involved with the forum say it’s an opportunity for Black residents to learn basic facts about the vaccine and ask questions to learn what barriers are stopping them from getting the vaccine.

To take part in the forum, you can visit this story online at kjluradio.com to find the Zoom link or call 929-205-6099.  The forum runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
