Amtrak service is back on schedule between Kansas City and St. Louis, after a boulder strikes a train in Gasconade County.
Amtrak officials report Missouri River Runner 313 was struck at 5:55 p.m. Friday. No passengers were injured. They were, however, stranded for around three hours, about ten miles west of Hermann, until they were eventually returned to the Amtrak station in St. Louis.
The incident had a chain reaction, prompting other Amtrak trains to run behind schedule. Passengers aboard Missouri River Runner 316 report they sat on their train, just east of Jefferson City, for several hours before their service resumed.
