A Camden County man convicted of savagely bearing his wife three years ago gets the maximum sentence the law will allow.
Clarence Porter, 56, of Linn Creek, was sentenced yesterday to 30 years in prison. He was convicted of first-degree domestic assault resulting in serious injuries last October.
It was in December of 2016 when Porter's wife contacted police to report the abuse. She told investigators that Porter had strangled and beat her so severely that she blacked out.
Court records show the woman was covered in blood when police arrived. She was suffering both facial fractures and bleeding on the brain.
