A newly-elected member of the Camden County Commission claims he was met with violence yesterday morning over social media posts about the condition of the office.
First District Commissioner James Gohagan says when he arrived at work on Thursday, he was met by disgruntled maintenance workers who blocked his entry to the building.
Gohagan told the Lake Sun Leader that he’d previously invited acquaintances into the building for a tour, to show them the condition of the building. Some of those friends later posted images to the private Facebook group, Lake Area Happenings, with negative comments.Â
Camden County Sheriff Tony Helms says when deputies responded to the scene, commissioners and staff were involved in an argument, but deputies were able to calm the situation down.
