Ashland’s chief of police is placed on paid administrative leave.

The city announced Tuesday that Chief Lyn Woolford’s leave was effective immediately.  KMIZ reports the city administrator says he and the mayor learned of a situation last week, that triggered an internal investigation.  The city released a statement, saying additional information would be released at the appropriate time.

Woolford was named “America’s Favorite Crossing Guard” last year, in a nationwide competition.
