A man who admitted robbing a Columbia bank last summer has been sentenced to a decade behind bars.
Jeffrey York, 59, was ordered Monday to spend 10 years in prison for first-degree robbery and making a terrorist threat.
York admitted to walking into Commerce Bank inside the West Broadway Hy-Vee in August 2018 and handing the teller a note demanding money. He then told employees he placed a bomb in the parking lot before fleeing the scene.
The threat prompted an evacuation, though no bomb was ever found.
