Columbia PD investigates shooting that left one juvenile with life-threatening injury

A juvenile suffers a life-threatening injury in a shooting in Columbia.  The Columbia Police Department says officers were called to the 2600 block of Old Highway 63 around 2:00 in the morning on Thursday.  They found a juvenile who had been shot, and he was taken to a local hospital.

Police say they detained two juvenile boys for second-degree assault and armed criminal action.  They’ve been turned over to juvenile authorities.

Officers say this Thanksgiving shooting was not a random act of violence, but that the detained juveniles and the victim knew each other.
