Columbia teachers' union recommends masks in the fall

A Columbia teachers union is recommending that all Columbia Public School students, faculty and staff wear masks when school starts in the fall.  The Columbia Missouri National Education Association sent a letter to CPS with their recommendations this week.

The letter states that since vaccinated individuals can still transmit COVID-19 to unvaccinated children, masks must be worn.  They recommend keeping masks in place until all children can be fully vaccinated.

The CMNEA also suggests social distancing and adjusting lunch schedules to avoid as much contact as possible.
