A Columbia woman is facing numerous charges after triggering an Amber Alert this past weekend.
Blythe Wells, 33, is charged with child kidnapping and tampering with a motor vehicle. She’s being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
According to court documents, Wells stole a SUV from outside a liquor store on Cedar Lake Drive Saturday night. The vehicle had been left running and unlocked, with a 14-day-old baby inside. Wells told police she didn’t realize the baby was in the SUV when she stole it.
The baby was located safe in the vehicle, parked outside a business in Ashland, about an hour after the abduction took place.
