Columbia is searching for a new city manager.
John Glascock announced his retirement on Thursday, saying he’ll officially step down in January.
Glascock has worked in various capacities for the city over the past 18 years, serving as the city manager for the last three.
The city says it’s beginning its search for a replacement in the coming months and will be using a consulting firm.
Mayor Brian Treece credited Glascock with bringing diversity and transparency to the office, as well as helping restore public trust.
