A large Confederate flag flying along Highway 54 in Miller County is drawing mixed reviews.  The flag is located between Eldon and Lake Ozark, and includes a spotlight at night.

The Lake Sun Leader reports the Missouri Department of Transportation has checked the flag’s placement and concluded it’s on private property so it can continue to fly.

Some residents have expressed concern that it gives the wrong impression to those driving through the area, while others argue the owner is just practicing his freedom of speech.
