Crawford County man with eight warrants found hiding at home in Cherryville

A Crawford County man is being held without bond on eight outstanding warrants, after he’s found hiding in a home in Cherryville.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says deputies had been looking for Larry Ransom II, 31, of Warrenton, since December, when he missed a court date.  Earlier this month, Ransom allegedly fled from police in Steelville in a vehicle.  Later that day, deputies searched a home in the 20000 block of Highway 19 and found Ransom hiding underneath a piece of furniture.  He was taken into custody, with no bond set.

Authorities say Randon was on probation in July of 2021 on several charges, including tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing, burglary, and resisting arrest.  While on probation, Ransom became the target of a fraud investigation and was arrested on six-count warrant in November of last year.  He was released on bond but failed to appear in court in December.Â
