Road crews in Jefferson City are already at work, laying down rock salt to make sure there aren’t many slick spots out there.  Public Works Operations Division Director Britt Smith says most roads are clear, though there are some slippery spots on bridges.  And he says there’s an added challenge right now.

“Luckily we’ve not had much of a volume of snow, but with this kind of wind, if we start getting a little bit more volume, visibility conditions are going to be an issue and then we could see some drifting in locations. “

Smith says they’re also watching pavement temperatures, which are above freezing right now.  But he says that can change quickly, so be careful out there.  And if you see a plow, give them some room.
