Details surface about charges against Columbia chiropractor

Brooks Travis

Court documents shed some light on what led to sexual abuse charges against a Columbia chiropractor.

Brooks Travis, 45, was charged Tuesday with one count of second-degree sexual abuse.

According to court documents, Travis had paid for a ride to Hooters Sunday.  But on the way to the restaurant, the female driver says he grabbed her inappropriately multiple times, then offered to pay her for sex.  She told police Travis was intoxicated.

Travis owns Lordex Spine Center in Columbia.  He also served as an assistant coach at Tolton Catholic High School but was released from those duties when the allegations surfaced.
