A fire at a Lake Ozark dock causes about a million dollars worth of damage.

A homeowner across the cove from Village Marina spotted the fire around 6pm last night and called Lake Ozark Fire.

By the time they arrived, heavy smoke and fire was pouring from the marina's Dock F, as well as numerous boats.

Lake Ozark Assistant Fire Chief Matt Birdsley describes the damage.

"We had two large boats totally destroyed.  A third probably over 70% damaged, if not 100%.  But there's several boats probably on the dock that have some type of smoke damage."

Birdsley says it's not clear yet how much damage the dock suffered but he said it appears portions suffered significant damage.

He says crews initially battled the fire by water, but once it was knocked down, they were able to attack by land.

No injuries were reported.

The cause remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's office.
