A man wanted on several warrants is back in custody following a police standoff in west Columbia.
Authorities responded to a tip Wednesday that Anthony Malin, 38, of Columbia, was at a home on Longwell Drive. Malin had active warrants out for domestic assault, drugs and resisting arrest.
However, once police got to the scene, Malin refused to come out and barricaded himself inside.
Police believed Malin was potentially armed and that he'd made previous comments about committing "suicide by cop." A Crisis Negotiation Team as well as SWAT were called in. Malin surrendered about an hour later.
Two people inside the home were also detained for questioning.
