Gasconade County hosts large-scale vaccination event but says future limited supplies mean no similar events are scheduled

Hermann Hospital and Clinics held a large-scale booster vaccination event on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Gasconade County R-1.  Although 1,152 vaccinations were administered, this was not classified as a mass vaccination event with the state.

Hermann Hospital and Clinics administers more than 1,100 booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.  The event was held at Gasconade County R-1 in Hermann.

The hospital reports that since it doesn’t qualify as a “High-Throughput Health Care” provider with the state, it’s doubtful they’ll receive large shipments of the vaccine in the near future.  The Gasconade County Health Department has been told it can expect about 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine every one to two weeks.

But for now, both Hermann Hospital and Clinics and the Gasconade County Health Department will be calling those who have registered for the vaccine through the hospital’s signup sheet.  County residents are also encouraged to sign up for mass vaccination events on the state’s Vaccine Navigator website
