Governor combines two annual family events into one this year

Governor Mike Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson announce their annual Fall Festival has been rescheduled, combined now with another annual event.

The governor’s office made the announcement on Tuesday, saying the third annual Parson Family Fall Festival will now take place Saturday, October 31 as part of the annual trick-or-treating event at the Governor’s Mansion.  The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the mansion’s lawn.

The fall festival had originally been scheduled for October 3 but was cancelled after the Governor and First Lady contracted COVID-19.

This year’s event will feature vendors, live bluegrass music, and children’s activities including a straw bale maze.  The governor’s office says kids 12 and under will be able to trick-or-treat for candy in a contactless and socially distant manner.

The event is free and no registration is required.
