Group of 5 friends win $1 million with lottery ticket bought in Jefferson City

A group of five friends won $1 million after buying a winning Powerball ticket in Jefferson City. The winners are Patricia Moody and Larry Lueckenhoff of Jefferson  City; Gary and Mary Kempker of Jamestown; and Richard Wallendorf of Sunrise Beach.

In a news release, Moody said the group had gone in together on lottery tickets in the past.  No one realized they had won until Moody stopped by the store where she bought the ticket the next day and the clerk told her a million dollar ticket had been sold there. The clerk scanned Moody’s ticket and told her she had won.

The ticket was sold at the Break Time at 3000 W. Truman Blvd.  The friends picked the five white numbers of 13, 15, 17, 45 and 63 on the November 11 drawing.
