A Boone County man is jailed for driving his truck into a patrol cruiser.

Dustin Ritchie, 45, of Hallsville, is facing a number of charges, including driving while intoxicated.

It was last night, just before midnight, when Ritchie was driving his truck on Mount Zion Church Road, just south of his hometown.  Ritchie struck a Boone County deputy's patrol car when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign, then swerved into oncoming traffic.  The deputy was able to avoid a head-on collision but Ritchie did strike his patrol car in the side.  The officer suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say it's difficult to determine the extent of Ritchie's injuries from the crash because he'd received injuries in a separate incident earlier in the evening.
