Highway Patrol says boat fires are avoidable

Highway Patrol spokesman Sergeant Scott White says boat fires are becoming more and more common at the Lake of the Ozarks. He says they are very dangerous, but can be easily avoided.

 White says make sure to run te boats vent fan in the engine compartment for several minutes to get the fuel and fuel fumes cleared before starting the boat. 

White syas there have been several fires this year already at the Lake.He says some injuries have occurred, but boat fires are avoidable.
