Holts Summit man leads police on nearly 40-mile chase

A Callaway County man is facing numerous charges in three counties following a high-speed chase earlier this week.

Mark Wolfmeier, 48, of Holts Summit, was charged yesterday in Callaway, Cole, and Miller Counties.  The charges include stealing, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, persistent DWI, driving with a revoked license, and three counts of resisting arrest.

It was Monday night when Wolfmeier was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash.  When an officer later spotted Wolfmeier's vehicle driving just south of Jefferson City, he attempted to stop him.  But Wolfmeier sped off, according to police, driving recklessly for the next 37 miles until he ditched his car near Lake Ozark.  But officers were able to catch him and quickly took him into custody.
