The Boone County Prosecutor calls a Columbia man a "prime suspect" in the disappearance of his wife.

Joseph Elledge, 24, is currently charged with child abuse.  He's being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond.  He requested his bond be reduced Wednesday but the judge has yet to rule on the motion.

Elledge's wife, Mengqi Ji, was reported missing October 9th.  Since then, the grandparents have squared off in court, trying to gain custody of the couple's young daughter.  The Columbia Missourian reports both sides reached an equal-custody agreement yesterday, while also agreeing Joseph should have no contact with his daughter.

During yesterday's hearing, the prosecution painted Joseph as a jealous, controlling husband who had said things to this wife that could be considered threatening.  The Missourian reports police have yet to go through Mengqi Ji's phone, but hope it might shed some light on the situation.
