Icy conditions contributed to one crash early Thursday morning in KJLU's eastern listening area.
Albert Leach, 21, of Sullivan, was hospitalized with serious injuries after wrecking his Camaro just after midnight.
The Highway Patrol reports Leach had been driving near Villa Ridge when he lost control on I-44 and hit the median cable. Investigators say Leach was driving too fast for the conditions and skidded off the road.
There are several warnings in effect for Mid-Missouri Thursday.
Columbia and Mexico could see one-tenth of an inch of ice and wind gusts as high as 30 mph.
Fulton and Jefferson City could see more freezing rain with a light glaze expected.
Meanwhile, an Ice Storm Warning is in effect for Sedalia, Boonville, and Moberly. These areas could see two to four-tenths of an inch of ice along with a half-inch of snow possible.
