An Iowa man is headed to federal prison on child exploitation charges out of Boone County.
John Lundberg, 31, of Ames, Iowa, was sentenced Monday to 15 years without parole. He was also ordered to remain under supervised release for 15 years after he's completed his prison sentence.
Lundberg came under police scrutiny in 2017 after he contacted an online advertisement posted by an undercover Boone County Sheriff's detective seeking out sexual predators.
Lundberg sent pornographic images and videos to who he believed as a 13-year-old girl. He also bragged to the fictitious girl that he'd previously sexually molested a young relative.
Investigators say Lundberg's interactions with the Boone County detective came just 44 days after he pleaded guilty to similar charges in an Iowa courtroom.
