A Jefferson City man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Boone County.
The Ashland Police Department reports an officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Wednesday when he stopped a vehicle driven by Edward Bailey II. During the stop, the officer developed probable cause to search Bailey’s vehicle.
During the search, the officer uncovered bags of marijuana packaged for sale, a powdery substance which field tested positive for opiates, and a loaded pistol in Bailey’s waistband.
Bailey was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, delivery of marijuana, and unlawful use of a weapon.
