Jefferson City Mayor Carrie Tergin presents her proposed city budget to the City Council. The 2022 budget totals just over $59 million, just slightly less than last year’s budget. The proposed budget does predict an increase in revenue of just over 2%, but it’s still less than the previous year’s budget due to the one-time influx of federal CARES Act funding.
Tergin’s budget would grant all city employees a 3% raise.
The City Council will spend the next several weeks tweaking and approving the final budget. Their work must be done by the end of October as the new budget takes effect November 1.
