KS couple, accused of sexual assault at the Lake, surrenders

Carl Mort & Cassandra Wedeking

A Kansas-state couple accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Lake of the Ozarks turn themselves in to Morgan County authorities.

Cassandra Wedeking, 39, and Carl Mort, 41, both of Overland Park, Kansas, surrendered to deputies Tuesday.  They’re charged with raping the victim last July on Wedeking’s boat at the lake.

The victim told police she’d been drinking with the pair when they stopped at Wedeking’s boat.  That’s when she says Wedeking offered her cocaine, and when she refused and tried to leave, the pair attacked her.

Both were charged last week with rape, three counts of sodomy, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.  Mort is also charged with an additional count of sodomy.

Mort is currently being held on a $150,000 bond, while Wedeking’s was set at $100,000.
