A Camden County man is facing charges for overdosing in the presence of a 5-year-old child.
John Varvera, 48, of Gravois Mills, was found Saturday in a vehicle with a hypodermic needle sticking out of his arm. After law enforcement was able to revive him, he was taken into custody. The child was placed into protective custody.
Varvera is charged with possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. He’s been denied bond.
The sheriff’s department reports a search of Varvera’s vehicle turned up suspected heroin.
