Missouri’s latest federal State Profile Report of COVID-19 shows a decrease in new cases but an increase in hospital supply shortages.
The state’s rate of new cases has dropped by 18 percent over the past week while hospital supply shortages have increased by 40 percent.
The report ranks Missouri’s community transmission level as substantial, with four mid-Missouri counties listed in the Red Zone. Those counties include Crawford, Maries, Osage, and Phelps, as well as the city of Rolla.
Currently, Jefferson City, Columbia, Fort Leonard Wood, and Moberly are cities listed in the Yellow Zone.
As of last Friday, just over 16 percent of the state’s population was fully vaccinated.
