Man injured in propane house explosion in Lebanon dies from his injuries

The explosion happened around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 in the 100 block of Cedar Crest Drive.

The Lebanon man injured during a house explosion last week has died from his injuries.

78-year-old Joe Cross, Sr. died on Friday after suffering multiple injuries.

It was last Thursday when fire crews were called Cross’ house.  When they arrived, they found his house flattened and Cross lying outside the home.

KY3 reports the state Fire Marshall has ruled the explosion was caused by a rusted hole in the gas line underneath the house.  Investigators say it could be a while before they determine what ignited the leak, although criminal activity is not expected.

Cross was a Navy veteran and retired police officer, originally from Seattle.
