A man wanted for a Wednesday afternoon police chase through Jefferson City is now in police custody.
The trouble started around 4:30 when officers attempted to stop the man as he drove on Missouri Boulevard. The man sped off and the chase continued to Highway 179 where officers used tire deflation devices to stop his car near Route T. The man then took off on foot. He was captured several hours later.
The JCPD thanked citizens on social media for sharing sightings of the suspect as he traveled in and out of the woods. And Cole County Sheriff John Wheeler tweeted his gratitude to both the JCPD and Missouri State Highway Patrol for helping take the man into custody.
Wheeler says more information about the arrest will be released on Thursday.
