An Indiana judge agrees to accept a plea deal offered to a Boone County over-the-road trucker, facing eleven charges including three counts of homicide.

Bruce Pollard, 57, of Sturgeon, was offered a deal, in January.  The plea agreement called for Pollard to plead guilty to three counts of reckless homicide, reckless operation of a vehicle in a highway work zone, and seven counts of reckless driving.  He also had to plead guilty but mentally ill, all of which he did Friday.  The payoff?  A possible lighter sentence.

Pollard is scheduled to be sentenced March 27th.

The accident happened last summer on an Indianapolis freeway.  Court records state Pollard approached a work zone at a high-rate of speed, triggering a multi-vehicle collision.  The first car he hit burst into flames, killing the three occupants, a young mother and her twin daughters.
