Kansas City is known for many things, from Royals baseball to barbecue … and the mafia. Missouri State Museum Director Tiffany Patterson says while most people might think of Chicago or New York when they think of the mob, there were powerful crime families in Kansas City, too.
“We had kind of a rich music scene, a rich alcohol scene in our cities, and when you have a lot of people and a lot of activity, you sometimes have a lot of crime.
That crime will be the focus of a virtual presentation by Carrie Hammond called “Missouri Mobsters Part II.” Hammond’s presentation will be available on the Museum Facebook page at 7 p.m. on March 3. It is part of the Museum’s ongoing Landing After Hours series.
