Missouri remains in Covid-19 Red Zone

Despite some better numbers recently, the state of Missouri continues its climb up the White House’s Red Zone report.

The latest word from Washington puts Missouri seventh among the states with the fastest increasing Covid-19 case numbers. That’s up from tenth the week before. The White House using numbers that show Missouri had 150 cases per 100-thousand people as of August 31st.

Among counties with in the state…Boone and Cole made the list for their increases per 100-thousand people. The report also lists counties at the Lake, Camden, and Miller as Red Zone counties with infection rates above 100 per one hundred thousand population. Columbia and Jefferson City listed as Red Zone cities.

The White House recommends areas in the 'red zone' shut down bars, limit indoor dining to 25 percent capacity and require masks or other face coverings.
