Missouri rolls out next phase of COVID-19 vaccinations

Governor Mike Parson announces the state is rolling out the next phase of its COVID-19 vaccination plan.

The governor announced that Phase 1B-Tier 1 was activated on Thursday.  Under that phase, the state will target law enforcement, fire service, and other public health professionals.

The second half of Phase 1B, Tier 2 will be activated Monday, January 18.  It targets individuals 65 and older and those with serious health issues such as cancer, kidney disease, and developmental disabilities.

But there’s one drawback, the state currently doesn’t have enough vaccines for everyone included in these groups.  But Parson says he’s been informed by federal partners that they plan to significantly increase vaccine supplies next week.

The state says it will update its website, MOstopsCovid.com, on Friday with information that will assist those in the next phase to get vaccinated.
