MoDot seeking public opinion on Missouri train services

What do you think about Missouri’s train services?  MoDot wants to know!  They’re hosting a virtual open house to seek opinions on the state’s freight and rail services.  Michelle Kratzer with MoDot says they want to know what kinds of experiences riders are currently having, but also what they’d like to see in the future.

“What would you like to see from a passenger rail service?  Does it currently meet your needs?  Would you like existing service to have more round trips a day?  Would you like service to your community where it might not already be provided?”

Kratzer says the opinions they gather could influence funding for rail services and the services that are ultimately offered.  That could include the continuation of twice-a-day trips of the Missouri River Runner.  Kratzer says that service, which runs from Kansas City to St. Louis, has an economic impact of $208 million on the state.
