A man connected to a Morgan County child abuse case has been taken into custody after a police standoff.

KRMS News reports Troy Wyche, 25, of Barnett, was arrested late Saturday night after a brief standoff at an Osage Beach apartment. He's facing three counts of abuse or neglect of a child causing serious injury.

KRMS reports the charges come after a 2-year-old boy suffered numerous injuries last month related to an untreated allergic reaction. The toddler was also hurt after putting a TV onto himself and falling into a space heater.

KRMS reports Wyche was watching the boy at the time and failed to get medical help.

Court records show Wyche is facing a separate child abuse charge in Miller County and is banned from having contact with children.

Meanwhile, the boy's mother, 22-year-old Skylar Duhn, and Wyche's mother, 49-year-old Rebecca Coerver, are also facing charges in the case.
