Mother accused hiding abducted son in Laclede Co attic gets probation

Aubrey Ferguson and Woodrow Ziegler

A Lake-area woman, who previously pleaded guilty to abducting her son, avoids jail time.

Aubrey Ferguson, 31, of Camdenton, was sentenced Wednesday to five years supervised probation in Camden County Court.

Ferguson goes to trial on the same charge, in Laclede County, later this year.

It was in August of 2018 when Ferguson was scheduled to return the boy to his custodial father but the pair disappeared.  He was found, five months later, hidden in an attic crawl space of a Laclede County home where he was living with his mother and her boyfriend, Woodrow Ziegler.

Ziegler continues to face charges of hindering prosecution in both Camden and Laclede Counties.
