Mother of man who drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks files wrongful death lawsuit

The mother of an Illinois man that drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks last month file a wrongful death lawsuit against three men connected to his death.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Sean Jouglard, 21, got off a boat to swim in the main channel of the Lake, went under, and never resurfaced.  His body was pulled from the lake the next day.

Jouglard’s mother, Elizabeth Jouglard, of St. Louis, filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Camden County Friday.  The suit names Dylan McEwen, Eric Goette and Ronald Goette.  McEwen and Eric Goette were with Jouglard when he drowned.  The suit alleges McEwen hit a large wake, which threw Jouglard from the boat.  The suit goes to say the two men with Jouglard left the scene and waited 15 minutes before calling for help.

Ronald Goette is accused of knowing the men were not qualified to drive the boat but let them take it anyway.
