A Howard County man has died in a head-on crash reported late Monday night about 10 miles south of his hometown.

Joshua Brice, 23, of Fayette, was driving on Highway 5 near New Franklin around 10:50 p.m. when he attempted to pass a vehicle, but struck an oncoming car head-on.

Brice, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, 24-year-old Clay Walker of New Franklin, suffered serious injuries. There's no word on his current condition.
