A Pettis County man facing numerous charges for trying to elude police is headed to prison.
Carl Cross, 39, of Sedalia, pleaded guilty late last week to drug trafficking, two counts of stealing, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting arrest. A seventh charge against Cross was dropped and he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
It was in January when officers spotted Cross driving through town and attempted to stop him to serve multiple felony arrest warrants. But Cross sped off, eventually wrecking his vehicle, then taking off on foot.
He later stole a truck which was found at his apartment. When officers attempted to take Cross into custody there, he jumped from a second-story window and tried to flee but was captured after a brief foot chase.
