Richland man facing possible charges related to hostage situation

A Pulaski County man with a lengthy criminal history is arrested on an active felony warrant after he comes under investigation for a possible hostage situation.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department reports it was dispatched Thursday afternoon to the home of Nathanael Van Luven in Richland to investigate a report of a disturbance with a female being held hostage.

When deputies arrived, no one was home, but investigators pinged the woman’s phone to check on her well-being.  The phone was found to be at a known address in Lebanon where Van Luven was taken into custody.

He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail on charges from earlier this year, including domestic assault and armed criminal action.  The sheriff’s department says they’re still investigating the incident from Thursday, but all victims were located safe.
