Incoming storms prompt Cooper County rescue crews to take a break in their search for the body of Mengqi Ji Elledge.
KOMU reports crews say in addition to the weather, they’re waiting for heavy equipment from the city’s Public Works Department to assist with the search.
It was in late April when the Columbia Police Department announced it was building a levee along the Lamine River to aid in the ongoing search. Officials believe her body may be entangled in a log jam near the Highway 41 bridge.
Mengqi Ji has been missing since last October. Her husband, Joseph Elledge, is charged with murder in her disappearance.
