SEMA operations center activated as storm moves west

They’re keeping an eye on this latest storm statewide at the State Emergency Management Agency operations center in Jefferson City. Catey Eisterhold says they’re preparing for just about anything.

"We encourage all Missourians to avoid non-essential travel to give emergency crews and first responders room to work. Please continue to pay attention to the local weather forecasts and listen to local leadership if there is an emergency", said Eisterhold.

Eisterhold says the operations center will be going to its lowest level of emergency readiness this afternoon. But she says they can ramp up their response at any time should conditions warrant.
