A jury trial is scheduled for the last of three men accused of a drug-related murder in Callaway County.
It was Wednesday when the court scheduled a September 15 trial date for Justin Witt, 49, of Fulton. He’s facing numerous charges, including second-degree murder.
It was in April of 2019 when Witt and two friends met with the victim, 29-year-old Nathan Pritchett of Fulton. The men were attempting to purchase methamphetamine from Pritchett with counterfeit money. Court records state that when Pritchett realized the money was fake, he indicated he was going for a gun. That’s when Witt allegedly shot him with a 20-gauge shotgun.
Witt’s two accomplices previously pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to 12 years in prison.
